Sacred Valley – Moray and Tipon

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

The Sacred Valley is a popular destination for all visitors to the Cusco region of Peru. Located nearly one hour north of Cusco, The Sacred Valley located 1 hour north of Cusco is home to many Andean residents and includes the towns of Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytabo.

Most organized Sacred Valley tours (departing Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) will typically visit the famous market of Pisac before heading on to the mighty hillside ruins at Ollantaytambo. This for most visitors is the most that is seen of this beautiful region, before moving onto the Sacred Valley. However, it is not commonly known that close to the Sacred Valley there are two other fantastic Inca ruins, which are not included on a standard tour, but are well worth the effort to visit.
